The proposal editor
After the AI generates your proposal, it opens in a full-featured editor powered by Plate.js. You have complete control over the text — rewrite sections, add details, remove content, or restructure the entire proposal.
Two-column layout
The editor uses a two-column layout to keep everything accessible:
- Left side — the proposal text in a rich text editor where you do your writing and editing
- Right side — a tabbed sidebar with Analysis, Pricing, Timeline, and Score panels
This layout lets you reference the AI analysis, adjust pricing, or check your score without leaving the editor. The sidebar tabs update independently, so changes to pricing or timeline are reflected in real time.
Formatting toolbar
The toolbar at the top of the editor gives you quick access to common formatting:
- Text styles — bold, italic, strikethrough, and inline code
- Headings — H1, H2, and H3
- Lists — bullet lists and numbered lists
- Tables — insert and edit tables directly in the editor
- Links — add hyperlinks to any text
- Block quotes — for highlighting key points or client quotes
- Undo / Redo — step backward and forward through your changes
Use keyboard shortcuts for faster editing: Ctrl+B for bold, Ctrl+I for italic, and Ctrl+Z to undo. On Mac, use Cmd instead of Ctrl.
Advanced features
Slash commands
Type / anywhere in the editor to open the slash command menu. Quickly insert headings, lists, tables, and other block elements without reaching for the toolbar.
Drag and drop
Hover over any block to see a drag handle. Click and drag to reorder sections, paragraphs, and other elements within your proposal.
Markdown support
The editor supports Markdown shortcuts for fast formatting. Type ## to create a heading, - for a bullet list, 1. for a numbered list, or > for a blockquote.
Editing tips
Work with the AI output, not against it
The generated proposal is a strong starting point. Focus your editing on:
- Personalizing — add project-specific details the AI couldn't know
- Tightening — remove generic filler and sharpen your value proposition
- Accuracy — verify that technical details, timelines, and pricing match your intentions
Use the sidebar tabs
While editing, switch between sidebar tabs to:
- Analysis — review extracted requirements and risks to make sure nothing is missed
- Pricing — adjust line items and see the total update instantly
- Timeline — modify phase durations and milestones
- Score — check your proposal quality score and read improvement suggestions
Saving your work
Click the Save button in the toolbar to persist your edits. The editor stores your changes in multiple formats (rich text, Markdown, and HTML) so exports always reflect your latest edits.
The proposal title is editable too. Click on it at the top of the editor to change it.
