Who can sell?
Marketplace selling is available on Pro and Agency plans. You need to complete seller onboarding before you can publish paid listings.
Seller onboarding
Navigate to the Seller page from the sidebar to get started:
- Set up your profile — add a display name, bio, and avatar that buyers will see
- Connect Stripe — link your Stripe account for receiving payouts via Stripe Connect
- Verification — your profile is verified once Stripe Connect setup is complete
Stripe Connect handles all payment processing and payouts. Ergate never has direct access to your bank account or financial details.
Creating listings
Once your seller profile is set up, you can list any of your existing content for sale:
- Go to Seller → Listings and click New Listing
- Choose the item to list — a template, prompt package, skill, or bundle
- Set a price (or make it free for community goodwill)
- Add a description, tags, and preview content to help buyers understand what they're getting
- Submit for review
Listing status
Listings follow a lifecycle:
- Draft — you're still editing the listing
- Pending Review — submitted and waiting for approval
- Active — live on the marketplace and available for purchase
- Suspended — temporarily removed (e.g., for policy review)
- Archived — removed from the marketplace by you
Pricing
Set any price you want for your listings. Keep in mind:
- Platform fee — Ergate takes a 25% platform fee on each sale. The remaining 75% goes to you.
- Free listings — you can also publish items for free to build your reputation and get reviews
Pricing strategy matters. Consider offering a free template to attract buyers, then upselling premium prompt packages or complete bundles at a higher price point.
Bundles
Create bundles to package multiple items together at a combined price:
- Go to Seller → Listings and click New Bundle
- Select the items to include (templates, prompt packages, skills)
- Set a bundle price — typically at a discount compared to buying items individually
- Publish the bundle
Bundles are a great way to increase average order value and provide complete workflow solutions.
Seller dashboard
Your Seller dashboard shows key metrics at a glance:
- Total sales — number of items sold
- Total revenue — your earnings after platform fees
- Average rating — aggregate rating across all your listings
- Recent sales — a table of your latest transactions
Earnings
Visit Seller → Earnings for detailed financial information:
- Revenue breakdown — see earnings by listing
- Payout history — track Stripe payouts to your bank account
- Platform fees — transparent breakdown of fees per sale
Payouts are handled by Stripe Connect on their standard schedule (typically 2-7 business days depending on your country).
Tips for success
- Write detailed descriptions — explain exactly what's included and how it helps
- Add preview content — let buyers see the structure before purchasing
- Respond to reviews — engage with your buyers to build trust
- Keep items updated — refresh your listings as best practices evolve
- Build a portfolio — the more quality items you have, the more discoverable you become
