Buy extra proposal credits when you need more than your monthly plan allows.

What you'll learn

  • How the add-on credit system works
  • Tiered pricing and volume discounts
  • How to purchase and use credits

What are credits?

Add-on credits let you generate additional proposals beyond your plan's monthly limit. Each credit equals one proposal generation. Credits are available on all plans, including Free.

When to use credits

Credits are useful when:

  • You've hit your monthly proposal limit but have more briefs to process
  • You have a seasonal spike in proposals (e.g., January new-year budgets)
  • You want to stay on a lower plan but occasionally need extra capacity
  • You're on the Free plan and want more than 5 proposals in a month without committing to a subscription

If you consistently use credits every month, compare the cost against upgrading. For example, if you're on Solo (25 proposals) and regularly buy 20+ credits, upgrading to Pro (50 proposals at $49/month) may be more cost-effective.

Tiered pricing

Credits use progressive tiered pricing — the more you buy in a single purchase, the cheaper each credit gets:

| Volume | Price per credit | |--------|-----------------| | 1–10 credits | $0.99 | | 11–20 credits | $0.89 | | 21–50 credits | $0.69 | | 51–100 credits | $0.49 |

Tiers are applied progressively within a single purchase. Credits are sold in increments of 5, with a minimum of 5 and maximum of 100 per purchase.

Credits never expire

Once purchased, credits stay in your account until you use them. There's no expiry date, no "use it or lose it" pressure. They carry forward across billing cycles, plan changes, and even downgrades.

Credits are always used after your monthly plan allowance is exhausted. Ergate draws from your plan's included proposals first, then dips into your credit balance.

How to purchase

  1. Go to Settings → Billing
  2. Click Buy Credits
  3. Enter the number of credits you want
  4. See the per-credit price update based on volume tier
  5. Click Purchase to complete the transaction

Credits are added to your account instantly. Payment is processed through Stripe using your card on file.

Tracking your credit balance

Your current credit balance is displayed on the billing page alongside your monthly usage meter. You can see:

  • Plan proposals remaining — how many included proposals you have left this cycle
  • Credit balance — how many add-on credits are available
  • Credits used — how many credits you've used all time

Credits and team plans

On the Agency plan, credits are shared across all team members — just like the monthly proposal limit. Any team member can use credits when the monthly allowance runs out.
